Hello! I am Celia Mariconda and I am from Guilford, Connecticut. I am currently a freshman at Quinnipiac University pursuing a future within the field of communications. I am currently a Media Studies major, studying and taking courses involving public relations, visual and graphic design.
I first became interested in this study many years ago when I went to visit my uncle, Ken Rosato, at ABC studios in New York City. I was facisnated by the television screens all around the set, the reporter’s perfectly placed coffee mugs aranged on the table, and especially the technicality of the “behind the scenes” aspect of this production. This experience made me want to learn more about the foundation of the wide variety fields of communications.
I tend to pay close attention to the details within different landscapes and scenery. I enjoy the rare beauty outdoors, as well as the cozy, welcoming feeling of a home. I appreciate the vibrance of the pops of magenta coming from blooming florals, or the velvety shine of a modern throw blanket. The editing process of photos intrigues me the most, whether it is dabbling with lighting or maximizing the vibrance of a bright color.
In movie trailer posters, for example, it is impressive how someone can capture the entire essence of the movie within one graphic design. This can be done by casting dark shadows in the image, representing this specific horror movie “Annabelle”.
In this specific movie cover, one can assume this movie is about a possessed doll, which is correct. The text, as well as the doll clothes, bring an evil and decrepit mood to the image. The dark room the doll rocks in gives off a omen that “Annabelle” is angry and wants revenge.
